We travel in small groups of 18 to 24 participants. Our current tours focus on 3 regions within the province of Munster (Clare, Limerick, West Cork/Kerry). Unlike the typical whistle stop tour where you’re hurriedly dragged from one end of the country to the other, spending long periods of time each day on a bus, our more focused, unrushed itinerary creates a more tranquil and deeper experience. Less traveling time and distance also means increased opportunities to meet more guides and explore more special places.
Accommodations are in luxurious, spacious, private houses. For the Bealtaine Blossoms Tour 2018, the first accommodation has a stunning seaside setting within a private woodland away from any roads but walking distance into one of West Cork’s most charming villages. The second accommodation is a delightful eco-tourism hidden gem near East Clare with an outstanding certified organic restaurant on site (One of only two in the entire country).
Healthy, local, vibrant food is very important to us. We have carefully selected unique eatingestablishments and caterers whose culinary creations will provide a true taste of Ireland. You will have the opportunity to sample some of Ireland’s best wild cuisine along the way and be treated to a wild food feast prepared by a professional foraging caterer. Most dietary requirements can be catered for.
All inclusive- From when we collect you from Shannon Airport upon your arrival in Ireland, you only need sit back and enjoy the journey, as we will have everything arranged for you. All accommodation, food, travel and entry fees are included * We will travel with our own private bus and we are fortunate to have a driver who is not only the best driver you have ever seen but will regale us with all sorts of fascinating information about the places we will visit.
Each day you will have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of Irelands foremost experts on a variety of subjects from the world of nature, culture, and heritage. We will walk in Ireland’s ancient forests with forestry and tree lore experts, harvest wild edible mushrooms with a local mycologist, explore ancient megaliths with a local archaeologist and several other. And throughout every minute of the journey you will be accompanied by your hosts Chris and Tara who are not only both practicing herbalists but also have whole host of other skills centred around the knowledge of plants and nature including: horticulture, botany, yoga, brewing, distilling, Celtic spirituality and more.
We aim to facilitate healing through connection to the ancient, sacred places of Ireland while also exploring ways that we can practice reciprocity, giving back to the Irish environment and local community. We’ll learn about pioneering environmental and cultural regeneration projects and how we can support them. We’ll also get our hands dirty with some pay-it-forward medicine making evenings with Lorna Mauney-Brodek which will generate supplies for use in a mobile herbal medicine clinic (Dublin Herb Bike) which supports the Dublin homeless community. The land of Éire has much to give and we wish to give back as much as we can.
