If you’ve always dreamed of a trip to explore the crafts and wonders of the Emerald Isle – or if you just can’t wait to get back – this is the trip for you! Join us on a journey exploring the diverse native crafts traditional to Ireland. We will meet skilled craftspeople to discover the arts they have preserved and mastered while immersed in the wild beauty and culture of this sacred land. There will even be opportunities to try your hand at various crafts.

Join Tara De Róiste (Feakle, Co. Clare) and Christopher Gambatese (Cork) of Wild Routes Ireland to explore the country’s rich culture and history of handcrafts. Thatching, chair making, woolen weaving, boat building, wild food & seaweed foraging, herbal medicine, strawcraft, leatherwork, sustainable farming, traditional storytelling – we’ll be filling our days with amazing craftspeople and artisans.

Immerse yourself in nature as we visit ancient oak trees as old as the kings of Ireland, the remains of the only post-glacial alluvial forest left in Western Europe, gorgeous pockets of temperate rainforest, a rare yew woodland, the famous Burren, and the endless scenic vistas for which Ireland is known. We’ll also take time to immerse ourselves in Ireland’s breathtaking landscapes, spending time at stone circles, ancient forests, holy sites, and natural wonders.

We travel in small groups of 18 to 24 participants. Our current tours focus on 3 regions within the province of Munster (Clare, Limerick, West Cork/Kerry). Unlike the typical whistle stop tour where you’re hurriedly dragged from one end of the country to the other, spending long periods of time each day on a bus, our more focused, unrushed itinerary creates a more tranquil and deeper experience. Less traveling time and distance also means increased opportunities to meet more guides and explore more special places.

The cost of this all inclusive tour is €2500 (Euros) but we are offering a limited number of early-bird discounted places (first come first served) for €2300 (Euros) up until the 1st of Feb. or until they sell out.

Cost includes:
Lodging: Rooms are double occupancy (extra fee €350 for private room). Accommodation for first 4 nights is in 4 star vacation homes and the final 6 nights of tour are in 5 star luxury accommodation.

Meals: Three meals a day are included in package. You will be fed with wonderful nourishing food both while dining out and other meals catered by specially selected chefs. One lunch and one dinner are on your own (not included in price) where you can choose where you wish to dine in 2 different towns we will be visiting. Breakfasts are self-catered, but a wide variety of foods will be provided.

Healthy, local, vibrant food is very important to us. We have carefully selected unique eating establishments and caterers whose culinary creations will provide a true taste of Ireland. You will have the opportunity to sample some of Ireland’s best wild cuisine along the way and be treated to a wild food feast prepared by a professional foraging caterer. Most dietary requirements can be catered for.

Transportation: from Shannon Airport (our meeting place) to the accommodations and all destinations throughout the entire journey. Our own private, comfortable bus and incredible driver, Fred.
